De Lavoisier surgió esta idea de constante transformación del universo, mientras que de Copérnico llegamos a conocer la centralidad que ejerce el Sol, a partir del cual se define la rotación de la Tierra. Cada 23h 56min 4.09s el sol vuelve a caer sobre el mismo punto de nuestro planeta, registrando lentamente, de forma lenta e irrepetible, sus rayos en las superficies que encuentra, ya sean rocas u hojas de papel. Graduado en Escultura, Rui Horta Pereira se interesó por el Dibujo desde muy temprana edad, no solo por las reflexiones teóricas que sugiere, sino también por el uso de materiales y procesos, que en sí mismos reflejan una posición ética y social en temas de sustentabilidad.

The idea of constant transformation came from Lavoisier, and with Copernicus we learned the central role of the Sun, from which the Earth’s rotation is defined. Every 23h 56min 4.09s, the Sun shines again on the same point of our planet, slowly and leisurely recording its rays on these rocks or sheets of paper. Trained in Sculpture, Rui Horta Pereira became interested in Drawing very early, not only for the theoretical reflections it suggests but also for the use of materials and processes, which themselves reflect an ethical and social stand regarding the issues of sustainability.
