red/red/red/peruke es el resultado del diálogo que Nora Aurrekoetxea establece con la obra de Jorge Oteiza. El interés por el reverso vaciado de su escultura Retrato de Unamuno es el punto de partida.

La artista vasca revisa aquí el concepto de busto desde los elementos que determinan su condición formal, aproximándose de esta manera a la idea del «antibusto», propia de un cuerpo que se define por sus ausencias.

La identificación del peinado con el gesto escultórico de construir volumen genera la representación de conjuntos de cabezas en distintos materiales como resina o cera, cuya configuración está determinada por la gestualidad del cabello convertido en forma detenida. Lo moldeable deviene materia estable para establecer encuentros y relaciones con otros cuerpos.

red/red/red/peruke is the result of the dialogue that Nora Aurrekoetxea establishes with Jorge Oteiza’s work. Her interest in the hollowed reverse of his sculpture Portrait of Unamuno is the starting point to create.

The Basque artist reviews the concept of bust from the elements that determine its formal condition, thus approaching the idea of the «antibust», typical of a body defined by its absences.

The identification of the hairstyle with the sculptural gesture of building volume generates the representation of sets of heads made of different materials such as resin or wax, whose configuration is determined by the gestures of the hair converted into a stopped form. Moldeable essence becomes stable matter to establish encounters and relationships with other bodies.
