Hasard objectif

Laía Argüelles Folch aúna aquí la investigación conceptual y la creación de una serie de obras con un eje común, estudiando las imágenes como forma de pensamiento y los modos en que afectan a quienes las miran en su conformación de lo real. La tarea comienza con una búsqueda sin objetivo concreto que posee lo que André Breton denominó hasard objectif : un «azar objetivo» que se rige por las potencias del no-saber, por lo inesperado del hallazgo para construir a partir del material rescatado. Con su trabajo, Laía desafía la consideración de que las imágenes agotan su sentido y para ello se recuperan y reconfiguran dentro de estas obras, para abrir múltiples vías de pensamiento sobre la transmisión, la pervivencia, la presencia del cuerpo, la desaparición o la fragilidad.

Laía Argüelles Folch combines conceptual research and the creation of a series of works with a common axis, studying images as a form of thought and the ways in which they affect those who look at them in their shaping of reality. The task begins with an aimless search that possesses what André Breton called hasard objectif: an «objective chance» that is governed by the powers of not-knowing, by the unexpectedness of the discovery in order to build from rescued materials. With her work, Laía challenges the idea that images exhaust their meaning and for this purpose they are recovered and reconfigured in these pieces, to open up multiple ways of thinking about transmission, survival, the presence of the body, disappearance and fragility.
