Fonseca Macedo Arte Contemporânea was founded in 2000 with the objective of promoting contemporary art in the Azores.
Assuming itself as an independent project in terms of its artistic direction, the gallery has defined as its main purpose to create new publics, showing emergent and established artists, from Portugal and from abroad. More than twenty years after its foundation, the Fonseca Macedo gallery comes back to its original address, integrated in the Casa da Galeria.
